How long have you worked here: April of 2005

Why did you choose to work in the veterinary industry?

I grew up with cats and dogs all my life. Animals have a way of providing comfort and unconditional love that helps people through the good times and the bad times. I am proud to be part of a clinic that provides gentle and loving care to our patients (who become a part of “our” family as well)

Tell us about your animals:

Gizmo – is a 12-year-old Flame Point Siamese who was adopted from a farm as a 6-week old kitten, who has grown into a longer/taller cat than most.

Cosmo- is a 12-year-old Ragdoll. I believe he has OCD, he is fun to watch chasing his shadow on the bed, stalks the other cats, and has a fetish for chewing on plastic of any sort.

Tabby – is about 8 years old. He showed up in the backyard all skin and bones. It took several months before he would let us pet him when he ate. Long story short, he is now strictly indoors and demands attention!

Fun facts:

I love destination “unknown” adventures – taking off in the car and traveling on new roads just to see what sights I can find.

My kids and grandchildren mean the world to me. I have been known to travel 3 hours for a 30-second race by one of my grandkids!

Why did you choose to work in the veterinary industry?

I have always been interested in healthcare/medicine and started out on the human side of things.  It wasn’t until I became a volunteer at an animal shelter and started fostering that I realized I wanted to make a difference in the lives of animals as well.  The veterinary profession allows me the chance to be in both worlds, human, and animals!

Tell us about your animals:  Bella and Kong are both Pomeranian mixes, Mya is a Pomeranian and Miley and Iana are shepherd/ basset mixes.  Included in the household are cats, rabbits, chinchillas, a hedgehog, goats, pigs and a fish named Shirley

How long have you worked at this clinic?

I worked here for seven years from 2008-2015 until my husband took a job in Northern Wisconsin. We happily returned to Hazel Green in 2016, and I was thrilled to come back to Colonial Terrace in November of 2017.

We have had several Westies over the past years.

Why did you choose to work in the veterinary industry?

I LOVE ANIMALS! There is something soothing about petting your dog or cat, taking them on walks or just spending time with them that is good for the soul.

Tell us about your animals:

We have had several Westies over the past years including a rescue which has now left us and gone over the rainbow bridge. We currently have a Scottie/Westie mix called Dulce that rules the house and brightens our day.

All of our pets have had musical names as my husband is a music teacher and I grew up with music in my home. Dulce means to sing or play sweetly.

Tell us fun facts about you:

I am originally from Plymouth in Sheboygan County Wisconsin on the eastern part of the state. We moved to this area over 30 years ago for my husbands first teaching job. I met my husband Eric in the Plymouth City Band, and have been married for 33 years, in fact, we took 92 people with us on our honeymoon as the band toured Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. We have been blessed with one son and one terrific grandson.

I play drum set for the Dodgeville German Band and was with the Mineral Point City Band for over 25 years.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking/baking, sewing, and crochet.
